Nutrition Service Project
The Foundation for Medical Sciences has presented a project in 2015 for a new Service at the Centennial Provincial Hospital, the decision of the provincial authorities is expected
In 2016, President Barack Obama strongly promoted the World Food Security Act (GFSA) , supporting the importance of the problem of nutrition in the world, which meant the largest investment in the history of the United States. (20 billion dollars). The law was approved with the support of both parties, that is, by members of the Democratic and Republican parties at a time of great division in the politics of the United States.
The healthy diet is critical to maintaining good health and improve quality of life. Despite significant government efforts, a significant disease burden is currently associated with nutrition and feeding problems.
Nutrition problems ranging from morbid obesity to malnutrition, and the psychiatric-psychic problems that exist in the field of Food Health for adults and children.
The unhealthy diet ranks as the most important risk factor worldwide . It predisposes to the appearance of risk factors and diseases such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol and its consequences, diabetes, some cancers, Osteoporosis, overweight and obesity.
Experts indicate that obesity is growing at an alarming rate and emphasize that it is increasingly early; instill good eating habits, one of the keys to preventing

In other words, of the total number of children and adolescents in Latin America between 20 and 25% of the population is overweight and obese. In adults, Argentina increased excess weight by 18% in the last decade, but obesity by 45%. According to the World School Health Survey, carried out in 2007 and 2012, in adolescents, the increase in overweight was 16% and that of obesity 34%. Today, one in four schoolchildren is overweight. Most of them will probably be obese adults, and the treatment is ineffective. In 30 years, our guards will be collapsed early diabetes and stroke. "This scenario presents no great differences between provinces or between cities and rural environment.
In theEnd of the year dinner in 2015, the Rosario Medical Sciences Foundation, developed in the Jockey Club rooms , presented an ambitious idea that came to support an existing potential at the Hospital Escuela del Centenario. On that date, a project of a Nutrition Center was presented to the provincial authorities, for ambulatory care with external clinics and meeting places, of the various groups of specialists trained in this area.
These specialists are in different teaching-assistance spaces of the Centennial.
For 15 years the Faculty of Medical Sciences has incorporated the Nutrition Area in the new medical curriculumwhere medical professionals and representatives from all fields of health (nursing among them) are grouped.
The Hospital's healthcare services have food specialists (adult clinicians and pediatricians, surgeons, psychiatrists, psychologists, psycho-pedagogues, nurses, nutritionists, kinesiologists, etc.) and both these and the others are not grouped in a joint work area in both the healthcare, teaching and research space and community outreach. The Medical Sciences Foundation, responding to an insistent demand from the Rosario community, evaluated the need to generate those projects that improve the health and quality of life of society, which in this case is a space for the Prevention and Promotion and treatment of food alterations. The creation of a public health service in the teaching hospital is proposed, offering activities bringing together its specialists in a unit that generates assistance, teaching, research and outreach to the community on issues related to nutrition and healthy eating.
With this objective, a PROJECT was developed that covers this problem. A space within the framework of the academy provided by the School Hospital that can be articulated in its operation in relation to existing NGOs from different origins and with multiple operators from the city and province environment. The Medical Sciences Foundation has the approval good of one of the great companies in the country in food to launch this necessary project, and sustain it to be delivered to the Province turnkey, for its administration and control. Only the political decision of the Authorities is missing, who in successive meetings expressed their support. Argentines to things

July 13, 2017An interview was requested with the Minister of Health of the province to discuss the characteristics of the project. August 25, 2017 Meeting with the Provincial Director of Hospital Architecture, Cecilia Fernández, where project progress was discussed, informing the representatives of the province of its interest for the Hospital. November 16, 2017 A visit was made to the institutional warehouses of the Rosario Food Bank that were visited with its president Nadia Nazer, Irene Berardo, head of the Institutional Relations axis and Santiago Ramos.
